Okay, how in the world is the prepared statement for Senator Kerry better than what he actually said?! Here is the prepared statement: "Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush." Now, what he actually said was that people unable to succeed in the U.S. educational system would likely "get stuck in Iraq." I don't get how it's better to criticize the Commander-in-Chief than to criticize the soldiers who are risking their lives. (Seriously, how would someone that's intellectually lazy end up with the responsibility of making such decisions anyway?!) I don't think this has anything to do with political parties or how you feel about the war. Senator Kerry's prepared statement was very disrespectful of our President. People are entitled to their opinions about the United States involvement in Iraq. I am certainly not happy about my nephew being over there, but being critical of a man whose shoes I would never want to be in doesn't help things. And those troops need to know that the folks back home are supporting them, regardless of how they feel about the decisions our government make. Okay, I'm done preaching...for now at least!

Amen! Preach on! Just kidding. As tired as I am of hearing all about Kerry's blooper, I also feel it's disrespectful to say something so publicly & so negative about authority figures. Those kind of jokes are best kept with much smaller groups. And I also think we should support troops & give them KIND words as much as possible. They are serving us & their country, protecting their families. They didn't individually make the decision to go to war in Iraq.
